Adding fluoride to municipal drinking water occurs in about 60% of cities and towns in the U.S. In any given year, there are a number of local debates resulting in 1) cessation of fluoridation due to health effects; and 2) initiation of fluoridation for health (dental) benefits. Fluoridation has a long, dark history– and why should the public accept mass, forced medication with a compound containing one of most toxic and reactive compound known to man– fluorine.
Perhaps ingesting fluoride at a level of 1 part per million or more would not be so bad– except for the draining of calcium out of the body, causing brittle bones as it accumulates in the skeletal system. What has always concerned me is that fluoride is aluminaphilic– it loves aluminum. When you cook with aluminum cookware with fluoridated water (for tea, soup or whatever) the uptake of aluminum is 50 to 80 times the amount as what occurs in non-fluoridated water. Aluminum accumulates in the brain and is implicated as a cause of Alzheimer’s disease. This 30-minute video is well worth the time if you want to be better educated on the topic.
